Because the area will be shaded, it won't be as hot, which will make it much more pleasant for you to sit outside and enjoy yourself. Rain Protection
If you want to be able to enjoy your outdoor living space even when it's raining, you might think that you need to have an umbrella, but if you have an awning, you can have a nice dry space to sit and eat, watch the rain, or grill. You may not have as much space as you would if it weren't raining, depending on which way the rain is coming from and how heavy it's raining, but you should still be able to have some dry space so that you can enjoy yourself.
If you want to have a nice outdoor space that you can enjoy and have some extra space for your house, then you may want to think about having an awning that you can spread out over the space so that you can enjoy your time outside longer and more comfortably.
